Welcome to Simla

Simla, Colorado, is located in Elbert County, approximately 45 miles Northeast of the City of Colorado Springs, along Highway 24.

  • Simla is a prime example of High Plains living at its finest. Simla still maintains a small town rural feel, with urban amenities located within a reasonable drive time.
  • Simla remains a quaint, quiet and friendly community which is proud of its past and hopeful for its future!

Simla was established in the late 1890’s, as a stop along the Rock Island Rail line. The town was founded in 1909 and incorporated in 1912. Simla grew and thrived as an agricultural community for the better part of a century.

As times changed so did the economical driving factors of the community. In the 1970’s local, small business, and commercial industry/manufacturing thrived in town.
