The Town of Simla is currently accepting applications for a full time Police Officer.

- Job Description: Performs police patrol, investigation, traffic regulation and related law enforcement activities. Is a team-oriented individual who takes pride in serving the community and has a positive “can do” attitude. Has a desire to contribute to the effectiveness of the police department as a team player. Is personable, communicates honestly and directly, has good listening and speaking skills. Considerable knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques and equipment and applicable criminal law, codes and legal procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- Must have a High school diploma or equivalent supplemented.
- Degree or vocational school training in police science, law enforcement, criminal justice
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Colorado Drivers License without record of suspension of revocation in any State
- Felony convictions and disqualifying criminal histories within the past seven years are not allowed.
- U.S. Citizen or a permanent legal citizen
- Must be able to read and write the English language
- Must be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits.
- Must be a Colorado P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer
