HELP GET YOUR PROPERTY BETTER PREPARED FOR WILDFIRE!.
All of the local fire districts and the OEM office would like to announce that Elbert County will be holding a free Community Wildfire Mitigation Event on Sunday, September 9th from noon to 4pm and then on Saturday, September 15th from 8am to noon at the old missile silo off of CR17/21 and CR124 in Elizabeth.
Trim up your trees and increase the defensible space around your home. Then, bring your slash piles to get them chipped into mulch FREE OF CHARGE. The mulch will be made available to Elbert County residents at a later date also for free.
Signs will be posted from HWY 86 in Elizabeth as a guide to the event.
