The Town of Simla is taking applications for a heavy/light equipment operator. Deadline to apply is July 17, 2023 at 3 pm.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, position does the following:
- Operates a variety of pieces of heavy and light equipment maintaining Town roads and alleys for accessible and safe public travel.
- Exercises independent judgement and initiative in the accomplishment of most tasks
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to read, understand and follow employee policy manual
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment
- Knowledge of applicable traffic laws and ordinances.
- Skills in the safe and efficient operation of road construction and maintenance equipment
- Town provides phone and must rotate weekend duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of automotive and construction equipment, such as motor graders, backoe, welding and removing snow
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public
- Be able to perform as a team member
Special Requirements
- May be required to have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- It is your dut to keep your CDL driver’s license and medical card current
