The Simla Police Department participates in or manages the following programs within the town limits:
Community Watch
The Community Watch program is designed to improve communications amongst neighbors and encourage reporting suspicious activity for follow up.
No one can watch their property all the time, but by coming together and doing your part, you can help prevent crime in your area. We are always seeking motivated individuals to contribute to the Community Watch initiative. Check the Town of Simla calendar for the next meeting.
Vacation Checks
Town of Simla Police Department provides a service to check on your residence while you are away on vacation. Checks can be scheduled for a maximum of 1 month.
To request checks, please complete and submit to the Town Hall or Simla Police Department the Vacation Check Request Form.
High Visibility Enforcement
The High Visibility Enforcement is a program sponsored by the Colorado Department of Transportation and the National Highway Safety Transportation Authority that provides grant funding for traffic safety missions. These campaigns include The Heat Is On! impaired driving enforcement and Click it or Ticket seatbelt usage enforcement.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Days
We participate in the U.S. Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Days in April and October of each year. Please check the Town of Simla Calendar and our Facebook for exact dates and times and accepted medication types.
